Grantsville is located in north central Garrett County, Maryland, just one and a half miles south of the Pennsylvania border. At the intersection of I-68 and Alternate US 40 with MD 495, the town is about 30 miles northeast of Oakland, 20 miles west of Cumberland, and 50 miles east of Morgantown, WV.

Our elevation ranges from 2220 feet to 2450 feet. Temperatures average about 28 degrees in the winter and about 68 in July. Annual precipitation averages about 47 inches, about 80 inches of snowfall. Autumn and early winter are the driest seasons.
